Cookies, Cookies, Cookies

Right now the cast is knee-deep in their second run through to determine the blocking. Frog has just given Snail the letter for Toad! Meanwhile, Toad's house is under construction and Frog's house is beginning to take shape.

Mr. Fallu has been working almost nonstop with the whole cast on, 'Merry Almost Christmas' and with smaller groups on their respective songs. We all have made significant progress! The students are also beginning to learn and master the extensive choreography (special thanks to Christiana).

The posters are up, the Save-the-Dates are sent, and the t-Shirts are designed. Costumes are slowly moving from paper to hanger and props are starting to be collected.

That's all for now. Cookies, Cookies, Cookies!

The Next Phase

The cast is (hopefully) spending some of this beautiful weekend learning their lines and perfecting their songs because by friday everyone (other than Frog and Toad) must be completely off-book.

During the past week we all but perfected both 'Cookies' and 'Finale.' The Birds learned how to fly south for the winter while others shivered from Frog's scary story about the Large and Terrible Frog.

Our first full day focusing solely on the play begins on Monday. With a relaxed dress code, no academic classes, and a snack table full of food, I'm sure the class will be in high-spirits as we watch the play take shape.

The Cast Is Selected!!

After a week of demanding solo and group auditions, the day finally arrived for us to receive our roles in the senior play. The morning was filled with nervous excitement as the students of the senior class arrived at school and crowded around the newly posted cast list hanging on the window of the office. Congratulations to Gaby and Matt on being selected for the roles of Frog and Toad, respectively!

After we all found out the parts and backstage jobs we were assigned to, as well as a short main lesson, we began a full read-through of the script so everyone could become familiar with their lines and key songs. With the help of Mr. Fallu, we also made good progress learning the song 'Cookies,' which the entire class will perform together.

The day came to an end with the enthusiastic discussion of various practical matters such as set design, costumes, T-shirt possibilities, and, most importantly, where we will be ordering lunch from for the next three weeks!

We look forward to the exhausting but definitely entertaining days to come!
